Recycling
The Recycling Drop-off Center is located in the rear of the Municipal Building at 1111 Market Street. We accept
glass, cardboard, paper, plastics, and televisions. There are blue totes specifically for household plastic items made from polypropylene (like yogurt cups, margarine containers, medicine bottles, take out containers), a white igloo for aluminum, a green dumpster for glass items, and another for paper/cardboard items, and Televisions. The dumping of larger items is strictly prohibited. The Center is available to anyone in the Marcus Hook area. It will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is camera monitored.
Leaves collected by the Highway Department are taken to the Delaware County Compost Farm at the Chester Township Transfer Station. This dark brown compost can be used in gardens and as a landscape mulch and is available free of charge at the compost farm and is often stockpiled in the Borough for resident use.
