Help Wanted! Marcus Hook Police Department
The Borough of Marcus Hook, Delaware County is currently accepting applications for Part Time Police Officers.
Requirements:
- Citizenship - An applicant shall be a citizen of the United States of America and shall provide satisfactory evidence of citizenship.
- Applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age before the deadline for submitting completed applications.
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license. Pennsylvania motor vehicles (automobile) operator’s license or its equivalent.
- Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited high school or have a general equivalency diploma, be able to speak, read and write the English language at the time of hire and possess Act 120 Certification.
- Applicant must be of good reputation and moral character. The applicant must present separately prepared references from three (3) individuals who are not related to the applicant and who can be contacted within a reasonable time.
Any applicant failing to meet these minimum requirements will be disqualified. This position is exempt from the Civil Service requirements, is not included in the Bargaining Unit, and is considered at-will employment. The hiring process will include oral interview(s), a background/criminal history check, a drug test, medical and psychological exams, and firearms qualification.
Hours of work will include day and night shifts, weekends, holidays and other hours as required by the department. Part time Officer’s compensation is $21.50 per/hour for 2021. Officers will receive additional pay for working festive holidays.
