Declaration of Disaster Emergency
On Friday, March 13th, 2020 the Borough of Marcus Hook declared a Disaster Emergency as a result of the COVID-19 Coronavirus, effective immediately. While we are not aware of any cases of COVID-19 within the Borough of Marcus Hook, this Declaration was made to enable the Borough to act as necessary to meet the current exigencies of this emergency if needed, namely by the employment of temporary workers, by the rental of equipment, by the purchase of supplies and materials, and by entering into such contracts and agreements for the health and safety as may be required to meet the emergency, all without regard to those time-consuming procedures and formalities normally prescribed by law, mandatory constitutional requirements excepted.
Please see the attached link for the complete Local Disaster Emergency Declaration for the Borough of Marcus Hook. As noted on 3/12/2020, the Borough has elected to close the Marcus Hook Community and Fitness Center as well as the Mary M. Campbell Library effective immediately and lasting at least through the end of March. We will reassess the situation closer to that point in time and provide further information on if those Borough facilities will remain closed or when they will be planned to re-open.
