Spotted Lanternfly in Marcus Hook!
The Spotted Lanternfly is an invasive insect now present in Delaware County and surrounding areas in at least five eastern states. The SLF threatens agriculture, tree health, and is a nuisance pest. There have now been sightings in Marcus Hook Borough.
If you see Spotted Lanternfly, try to kill them using safe practices. They will soon be laying egg masses. Scrape egg masses and dispose. Delaware County is within the Spotted Lanternfly quarantine zone: use caution to not transport Spotted Lanternfly around to new areas. Look before you leave. Inspect your car and any materials you may be transporting for any life stage of the insect.
