Marcus Hook Annual Memorial Day Parade

Military units, string bands, drum teams, antique cars, civic groups, fire companies, and others will grace the streets of Marcus Hook Borough on Saturday, May 27, 2023 as the Borough celebrates Memorial Day in grand style.  The annual Marcus Hook Memorial Day Parade will begin at 12:00 Noon starting on 10th Street at the Marcus Hook Trainer line. At Market Street the parade will turn left and head south to conclude at Market Square Memorial Park, the Borough’s beautiful waterfront park.

The parade will feature a number of marching bands, musical groups, and organizations including the Corvette Club of Media, Ferko String Band, Trinidad North Steel Band, Avalon String Band, Lulu Shriners, Valley Forge Highlanders, Verdi Marching Band, Hegeman String Band, Dixie Express, West Powelton Steppers, Quaker City String Band, Three Aksha, Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo Dancers, our very own Chichester High School Marching Band and of course Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty, along with many other civic and community groups.  Kids are also invited to participate in this year's parade with the Marcus Hook Recreation Department by decorating their bikes or scooters and following along the parade route.

This year's Grand Marshall will be Marcus Hook resident and Council Vice President William L. Cox.  Councilor Cox served honorably from 1963 to 1966 in the United States Army.  He was stationed in Thailand and Korea, and he finished his service at West Point.  

Following the parade the Vietnam Veterans of Delaware County, Chapter 67, will hold a memorial service at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Market Square Memorial Park.
